FMS: For Back Strength, Weight Loss, Body Toning, Optimal Performance, and Fundamental Functions for Post-Rehab

The Power of Measured Feedback by the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) gives you the information you need to shift fundamental patterns in your body and in your exercise protocol so that you can get the results you are looking for.

The 7-Points on the FMS reveal gaps in how well your brain talks to your muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to get your body’s core to engage on ALL of your functional movement patterns. These patterns are “primal patterns”.

You’ll receive a score from 0-21 from a qualified, certified FMS professional at Eight Elements West. From them you’ll also receive the proper evaluation and sequence of corrections to help you improve safely in the quickest way possible.

Qualifications

H.H.P. International Professional School of Bodywork, 2010; Massage skills include Tui Na, Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Integration, Sensory Repatterning, and the Oriental healing technique of Gua Sha. Yoga Alliance Certification, 200hr, Yoga Well, certified in Hatha and Pre/Post Natal yoga.

Baylee has been practicing massage for over a year and instructing yoga for two years. Baylee’s goal is to balance and heal the body through touch and movement while increasing relaxation and flexibility. She has experience working with all types of client issues from stress management and chronic back pain, to debilitating diseases such as multiple sclerosis. Baylee’s style is unique because of her familiarity with the different cultural healing techniques she blends to fit your needs. Her passion is working with the body and helping people live better lives, being pain free and stress-free.

Yoga, My Story

“I was introduced to Yoga when I was 18. After two severe automobile accidents, I was left with chronic back pain which caused sleep disruptions. Being conscious of my body and health, I wanted to keep moving daily with my athletic workout I had since high school. After trying the common route of medication (pain pills), I became clear this solution was only short-term, and that i needed to find something more natural and beneficial in the long-term. On a friend’s recommendation, I attended a Yoga class. At first I could barely reach my knees, let alone the floor. I looked around at the students stretched flat on the floor, their legs behind their heads, and I thought, “yeah right”. But I made it through. Afterward, I didn’t feel the need to take a single pain pill even though my entire body ached. I returned next day. And a year later I was free of pain pills, back pain, and I was able to sleep an entire night. At that point I decided to become a Yoga instructor. I began training at Yoga Well in San Diego. Taking every workshop available enabled me to receive my certification within a year and a half. I’ve been teaching ever since and love every minute of it. I am a firm believer in healing through Yoga. I am committed to helping others achieve their goals of the mind, body and spirit. I am thrilled to be a part of the 8 Elements West team. And, I am excited to meet you”!

Tui Na

This Traditional Chinese Medical massage focuses on unblocking and restoring proper blood and energy (chi) flow to the meridians and muscles, thereby strengthening the organs, tissues, and immune system. The use of various hand techniques and pressure makes this work very effective in relieving muscle pain, trauma, chronic fatigue and many other common ailments such as:

• Common Cold, Sinus Infection, Hay Fever, Allergies
• Dysmenorrhea
• Hypertension
• Rheumatoid Arthritis
• Prenatal Nausea

Spring is the birth and initiation of the dreams and seeds planted in the quiet reflection of winter. Spring emphasizes the liver/gall bladder meridians, the wood element, the emotions of ‘anger vs. creativity’, the organ of the eye and visionary spontaneity, and the archetype of the Child. Each season this 21-Day Detox helps you calm habituated activities in support of tuning into awareness of deeper needs. The body benefits: regulate metabolism, balance your organs, become lighter. Modern Medicine – a blend of traditional Chinese medicine, the biology of neuroscience and somatic awareness – assists in greater self-regulation, spiritual integration and healthy transformation.
